
Welding in Practice, 3 hp
The course covers how health and safety risks can be handled during welding. The course consists of practical exercises in the form of welding laboratories for the processes of oxy-gas welding, Gas Metal Arc welding (GMAW) and Flux Cored Arc welding (FCAW), Manual Metal Arc welding (MMA) and Tungsten Inert Gas welding (TIG).
Further, welding and welding-related processes such as brazing, plasma welding, submerged arc welding, friction welding, laser welding, electron beam welding and resistance welding are covered in the course. The focus is on the execution of the welding operation and the effect of different process parameters on the weld quality.

General entry requirements and approved result from the following course/courses:
SJL600-Welding Metallurgy of Iron-based Alloys and
ASP700-Advanced Welding Processes or the equivalent.
